Welcome to the home page of the Aberdeen Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club.

If you want to meet up with us then the best place is to visit the Aberdeen Boat Club on South Esplanade West on the bank of the river Dee at about 20:00 on the first and third Thursdays of each month Map to the Boat Club . Other than that, you can find us on the hill.

Past issues of the club newsletter, titled The Doric Dangler, can be viewed via the link to the left, as can various pictures in the photo gallery.

If you want to learn to fly either paragliders or hang gliders then there is a list of recommended schools based in Scotland under "Learning to Fly". A full list of schools in the UK can be found via the website of the national association, the BHPA.

If you are visiting and want to fly in the Aberdeen area then please contact one of the pilots listed under "Club Coaches" so we can show you around and tell you what / where / who to avoid on the sites.

There are a couple of tandem paraglider pilots now in the club. For more details click here

For general free-flying info in Scotland see the SHPF website at The Scottish Hang-gliding & Paragliding Federation and this list of Scottish Clubs

We also have a web-based group where hopefully plans for days out flying, or what the flying was like will be discussed. You can join this by going to (updated Feb2010) AHPC Googlegroup
